Some of the best shopping in Maine is in nearby Freeport.   Less than 20 minutes from Tondreau Point, Freeport is home to L.L. Bean.   The draw of this de facto standard in New Englan outfitting has made Freeport a magnet for outlets.  There are more than a hundred outlets in this town featuring clothes, shoes, toys, luggage, outdoor equipment, etc.  You name it, Freeport has it.  For women, men, teens, children and infants there are stores for everyone.

NOTE:  For kids, a trip to L.L. Kids is a necessity and a shopping break for the kids!  On the first floor, there is a really neat "trout stream" with some 8-12 in trout swimming in it.  (Get me a line!) On the upper level, there is mountian climbing and mountain biking that are sure to help your little ones get out some of those "shopping willies"!
